The UK's Telegraph newpaper today reported the death of British actor Edward Woodward, aged 79.
Probably best known to horror/genre fans for the 1973 film The Wicker Man - widely regarded as one of the finest British horror movies ever made - also starring Christopher Lee and Britt Ekland.
His other well-known credits included the anti-Bond spy series Callan, the silly-but-fun 80's show The Equalizer and in the title role in Bruce Beresford's magnificent film Breaker Morant.

He'll be missed. I thought his best work was in the television series Common as Muck, a British drama. But who could forget syndication's of The Equalizer. Getting up for a leak at 1am in the night and then flicking the telly on for a nosy and it being on, you'd settle and watch it, then go back to bed.
ReplyDeleteI liked his work a lot. I also really liked him as the vindictive King Saul in King David-I may be the only person that ever liked that but Woodward was brilliant-
